Matthew Cornwell

Matthew is a Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney in the Biotechnology and Life Sciences group. He joined the team in 2016 and handles the preparation, filing and prosecution of patent applications in the UK, Europe and worldwide.

Matthew has a PhD in Chemical Biology & Molecular Medicine from the University of Cambridge. His doctoral research, carried out at the Gurdon Institute and Department of Chemistry, was focussed on the discovery and development of chemical probes targeting ubiquitylation pathways in the DNA damage response. Prior to this, Matthew obtained an MChem (Hons) Chemistry from the University of Oxford.

Matthew has extensive practical experience in biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry and molecular cell biology which enables him to practice in a wide range of biotechnology and chemical technology areas.
