Tom is a European Patent Attorney and Chartered Patent Attorney in the Biotechnology and Life Sciences Group. He joined the firm in 2021.

Tom works across broad biotechnology and life science areas including molecular biology, genetics, immunology and therapeutics. He regularly works in:
• freedom to operate analysis and advice;
• attacking and defending patents at the European Patent Office in Opposition and Appeal Proceedings; and
• prosecuting patent applications at the European Patent Office and worldwide.

Prior to entering the profession, Tom obtained a PhD in functional genetics and neurodegeneration from University College London, before working as a post-doctoral researcher in the field of autophagy at the Cambridge Institute for Medical Research.

Tom speaks fluent Greek.
