Individual difference

Boult has always celebrated difference. We are a firm with strong shared morals and values, but where the unique skills of our people can flourish. We appreciate that our people all think about and approach challenges differently, resulting in innovative solutions. This is where ideas are born, and alternative strategies are created. It is our difference that makes this firm great.

We work hard to maintain our welcoming culture. We want everyone to bring their whole self to work and feel comfortable about being themselves. This isn’t frippery: equality, diversity, and inclusion matter. Boult sees the individual for who they are. You don’t need to have a certain socioeconomic background or have gone to a particular university; you just need to be yourself, share our values, have drive and ambition, sound judgement and excellent communication skills.

Flexible working

We have reinvented the 9-to-5 working day by fully embracing hybrid working. You are not expected in the office every day, but we do want to maintain our working relationships. We ask people to come into the office for at least two days a week (if they are full time), on team days and for office-wide meetings. We understand that to get the best out of our staff, they need to work at a time that is right for them, so we encourage people to discuss flexible working with their teams and come to an arrangement that works for everyone.

We also aim to be as flexible as possible. Need to do the morning school run – just start later. Having a delivery you need to be at home for – no problem, work from home for that day. We value our staff’s contribution to our success, and we want their working life to be a positive experience.

The wellbeing of our staff is crucial to the firm’s success. The legal environment is a stimulating one but comes with pressures and demands. Maintaining our staff’s mental health and resilience and promoting a healthy lifestyle is a responsibility the firm takes very seriously. This is why we have a programme of events, tools, and resources to ensure people are fit and healthy.

We are a family-friendly employer and strongly believe there needs to be a balance between the responsibilities of caring and a career. We want our people to feel supported both inside and outside the office and supported at all stages of family life. We have introduced flexible, family-friendly policies and practices to support mothers, fathers, and carers. We offer events, signpost material and have joined organisations such as WorkLife Central to help support wider industry conversations around balancing work and family responsibilities.

“We’re seeking ambitious, intellectually curious, commercially savvy individuals who are fantastic communicators and have a desire to succeed. As a member of our team, you’ll have ample opportunities to advance your career and achieve your goals. So, take the next step and realise your ambitions with us at Boult.”
