I lead Boult’s Patent Paralegal Group, managing a specialist team that supports all of the firm’s patent departments with complex formality-based practice areas, including the coordination of worldwide patent and design filing programmes.
My own practice focuses on the management of patent and design recordal matters in the UK, Europe and internationally. From straightforward changes of name or address to drafting assignment documents and navigating more sophisticated transactions – such as recording rights in rem – I take pride in ensuring that every matter progresses smoothly from start to finish. I particularly enjoy anticipating and resolving potential challenges early in the process to deliver clarity and efficiency for our clients and stakeholders.
Alongside my recordals practice, I have extensive experience in the administrative aspects of portfolio management, such as filing UK, EP and PCT patent applications, UK design filings, and I regularly assist with the end‑to‑end management of client design portfolios.
I began my career at Boult as a Secretary in the trade marks team before moving into patents within the engineering and designs group, where I quickly discovered my passion for supporting innovators of all sizes. Helping clients – from entrepreneurs in garden sheds to established global giants – bring their inventions to market remains to be a driving force in my work. Boult’s recognition of my commitment to client service and internal collaboration ultimately led to the formation of the Patent Paralegal Group, which I head.
Throughout my time at Boult, I have been committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive and accessible IP profession.. Internally, I contribute to several strands of our responsible business initiatives. Externally, I have spoken at a joint schools’ programme on career pathways in IP, mentored a European client undertaking the CIPA Introductory Patent Paralegal course, and provided voluntary administrative support to an international IP association.
