Álvaro is a Lawyer (Spanish qualified) in our Madrid office, with over 30 years’ experience in the intellectual property field.
He handles all aspects of trade mark, patent and design portfolios, with client ranging from entrepreneurs to multinationals. He has broad experience in advising on the availability of trade marks, building global portfolios and negotiating settlements, having participated through the years in professional organisations such as INTA, AIPPI, ECTA, PTMG and CITMA.
Álvaro also has experience in trade mark and patent litigation in several Spanish jurisdictions, having been a member of the Bars of Madrid, Vizcaya, Álava and Granada. He is well practiced in running cases before foreign registries and courts.
Álvaro has given presentations in different Spanish and international institutions, such as the Midwest IP Institute in Minneapolis. Álvaro is fluent in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
