I am the Business Development and Marketing Director here at Boult. I’m responsible for the firm’s BD and marketing activities. My team and I work to present Boult to our current and prospective clients and staff, in an authentic and engaging manner that gets our unique culture and experience across. We cover everything from content and performance marketing to brand development, from digital marketing to business and client development, from pitch support to award submissions and so on. The BD and marketing team here has grown significantly recently, and I’m excited to see the team go from strength to strength.
My role is an incredibly varied and often challenging one. I was an active participate in the team overseeing the London office move and worked closely with Oktra, to ensure the office space not only helped people work more effectively but was equally a space that reflected our brand, our values and our culture. I worked alongside senior management to encourage staff to complete The Sunday Time’s workplace survey, which resulted in us being recognised on the ‘best places to work’ list and being highly commended as a place to work for ethnic minority employees. I think this recognition is in part because of the firm’s responsible business strategy, which I helped shape and create. It has been great to be a part of our continued growth in Europe, working with our colleagues in Spain and Germany to develop a pan-European service offering.
I am conscious that with such a long-standing firm as Boult, you’re always a custodian of the firm for future generations. We’ve been at the top of our industry and at the cutting edge of science and technology for over 125 years; helping Boult sustain this privileged position in a highly competitive market certainly keeps me on my toes. My team puts together our legal directory submissions which is a huge annual undertaking and one that involves many fee earners and clients. I am delighted to say we’ve maintained our tier one status over the years, long may it continue!
I sit on the Commercial Group, the Marketing and BD Committee, and the Responsible Business Board. The latter role is of particular importance to me. I’m immensely proud to be a part of our ongoing efforts to give back to our local community, to nurture a culture that is based on equality, inclusion and diversity, to take care of our staff through the wellbeing programme and to take a more proactive stance in mitigating our environmental footprint.
It sounds like a cliché, but the culture here at Boult is absolutely fantastic. Teamwork, mutual respect and flexibility is at the heart of it, enabling staff to work in the best way for our clients, the firm and themselves.
