  • MSc Management of Intellectual Property, Queen Mary University of London
  • Graduate Diploma in Law, University of Law
  • BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science, King’s College London

My interest in intellectual property law was first piqued during my legal conversion course at university. I undertook a research project on IP, which I found really interesting – so much so that I went on to study a Masters in IP to gain a more in-depth knowledge of this area of law.

I now assist on a wide range of UK, EU and international trade mark cases. I work across the trade mark process, preparing evidence and submissions on contentious matters, seeing an application through prosecution and overcoming objections to take it to registration.

My work encompasses a variety of sectors, including computer games, entertainment and cosmetics. I enjoy the diversity of the day-to-day activities, while working with clients from individual entrepreneurs or small start-ups through to international corporations. For the latter, there is often the need to advise on a global trade mark portfolio, working with foreign specialists from all over the world – which is something I always enjoy.

I am particularly interested in the strategy behind trade mark protection and considering a client’s goals from a commercial point of view. It’s a fascinating area and one that encourages you to combine legal knowledge with a commercially focused mind-set.

Recent experience

Assisting a multinational corporate client in managing its expanding international trade mark portfolio, considering strategy and working with local experts in prosecuting applications internationally.

Assisting a luxury beauty brand in enforcing and asserting its global rights though trade mark oppositions and international trade mark watches.

Advising an individual client in resolving a dispute at the UKIPO, considering the legal and commercial issues at play.
