My route into trade marks has been somewhat unconventional. I graduated with a first-class degree before building a career in strategic communications with a focus on sustainability and brand purpose. I spent six years advising global brands on complex reputational challenges.
Through this work, I developed a strong appreciation of brands as valuable business assets and became increasingly interested in the legal frameworks that underpin and protect them.
I was particularly drawn to trade mark law because it combines analytical thinking with commercial strategy and sits at the heart of how businesses establish, protect and grow their identity. My experience working closely with global and luxury brands gave me a first-hand understanding of the importance of differentiation, ownership and consumer trust, making trade marks a natural area of focus.
I am particularly interested in the strategic role trade marks play in protecting and growing brands. I enjoy seeing how trade mark portfolios evolve alongside a business and how intellectual property can support wider commercial objectives.
My background in communications and brand consultancy gives me a strong understanding of how businesses build value through their brands. As I train to become a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney, I look forward to developing my expertise in portfolio strategy and helping clients navigate the protection and management of their most valuable brand assets.
