EcoVadis is the premier global platform providing sustainability assessments and rankings for businesses and their associated supply chains. Achieving an EcoVadis Silver Medal reflects Boult’s ongoing commitment to operating responsibly, minimising environmental impact and ensuring that the way we work positively contributes to both our clients and the communities in which we operate.
Andrew Little, Boult’s Chief Operating Officer, alongside a dedicated project team, led the firm’s accreditation process with EcoVadis.
“Being a responsible business is something we at Boult hold quite dear,” Andrew says. “It is also a serious consideration for many of our clients, who expect their partners and advisers to demonstrate the same level of accountability. Achieving this accreditation shows that we are not only committed to meeting those expectations but are actively building a business that is resilient, ethical, and forward-looking.”
He continues, “this process has meant looking closely at what we do across all areas of our business. Boult has long sought to work in a sustainable and responsible way but often without the structured measurement that formal accreditation requires. Working towards EcoVadis certification gave us the opportunity to develop robust systems to track, record and evaluate our progress against measurable targets. That structure not only validates what we are already doing but also equips us to set higher ambitions for the future.”
According to Andrew, the benefits extend far beyond compliance:
- For clients, it builds confidence that Boult’s operations align with their own environmental, social and governance (ESG) priorities, which are increasingly central to business partnerships and procurement decisions.
- For colleagues, it demonstrates a tangible duty of care, embedding sustainability, diversity, and wellbeing into the policies and culture of the firm.
- For the wider community, it reinforces Boult’s role as a responsible actor; actively working to reduce environmental impact, strengthen ethical supply chains and contribute positively to society.
“This process has enabled us to add to our already robust suite of policies and practices with formalised frameworks for sustainability, procurement and responsible supply-chain management,” Andrew adds. “We have also developed processes to monitor supplier performance in areas such as sustainability and combatting modern slavery, which are essential for ethical and transparent business operations.”
While becoming one of the few firms in our industry to pursue and achieve EcoVadis certification is a milestone, Boult sees this as the beginning of a longer journey.
“We’re delighted to have achieved this status, though it’s not the end of the story,” Andrew concludes. “Our long term ambition is to reach platinum status with EcoVadis. More importantly, this accreditation reflects a mindset and ethos that runs through our firm. We take our responsibility seriously: towards our clients, our colleagues and the world we work within. Having that commitment recognised by an independent global body is an excellent outcome but it also sets the stage for what we want to achieve next.”
