I started working in IT training when I was 18 for a company that provided apprenticeships. I then worked for a large global corporate company specialising in IT training. This included onboarding, new systems and procedures and business improvement techniques.
I then moved to Boult to provide IT training for our current and new systems, IT procedures and onboarding.
I love IT as there is no grey area. What you see is what you get.Recently, technology has moved on leaps and bounds and new technology these days is so much more advanced compared to your off-the-shelf products from a decade ago. There is so much more possibility and potential with them compared to older systems. I really enjoy learning EVERYTHING about a system then demonstrating and teaching my colleagues how they can use them. How one person uses a particular system will be different to the next and finding the best way to teach them is a challenge, but one I enjoy.
I think I am skilled at learning systems at least in part because I am dyslexic and have always been able to see the bigger picture of complex systems and concepts and to be able to break those down. I am a firm believer that this helps me be a better IT Trainer.
