I am a Spanish-Qualified Lawyer, and work in our Madrid office. During my legal degree I developed a special interest in intellectual property, subsequently specialising in the field through a Masters in IP and European Law from A Coruña University and a PhD in IP from Carlos III University of Madrid.
My work predominately covers a variety of EUIPO matters, including inherent registrability objections, absolute grounds objection, and opposition proceedings including submissions in oppositions. I support clients in industries including media and entertainment, food and beverage, industrial manufacturing and processing, computing and software, consumer goods and retail industries. Prior to joining Boult Wade Tennant Spain S.L.P., I gained valuable experience from my role as an examiner at the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office).
Outside of work, I lecture at university to graduate-level students, PhD students and lawyers, and I am a professor on several online courses of Tirant Lo Blanch. I have also written extensively about IP topics: I am the author of “Protección jurídica y eficiacia del diseño industrial no registrado” (Legal protection and effectiveness of the Unregistered Community Design); and of various collaborative works in relation to intellectual property. I have also written various articles for El derecho Editores and Audiovisual 451.
