I initially encountered patent law when I approached Boult to discuss applying for a patent for an invention I had developed whilst working for an early-stage medical device start-up. I really enjoyed the process of breaking down the innovation and identifying what could be protected, as well as deciding how to best position the patent application to provide long-term value for the company.

Following this, I applied for and was accepted for a Patent Trainee position at Boult. I hope to use my first-hand experience of applying for a patent to help guide our clients through the process, whilst maximising the value they gain from their patents.

I am particularly interested in the wide variety of fields I will be exposed to whilst working at Boult. I am excited to work with clients and innovators from a range of backgrounds, from early-stage medtech start-ups to multinational aerospace corporations.

I take an open-minded approach to problems and use my communication skills to convey complex information effectively. I love figuring out how things work and I’m looking forward to bringing these skills to the fore when working with our clients.
