Laura Garlick - Patent Attorney
Laura is a Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney in the High Tech and Electrical Group. She qualified in 2005 and joined Boult Wade Tennant in 2011. Prior to joining Boult Wade Tennant she worked elsewhere in private practice for ten years overseeing a large portfolio of work and representing a variety of international clients.
Laura drafts, files and prosecutes applications throughout the world, particularly in Europe. She has special expertise in the fields of consumer and communication electronics, semiconductor lithographic apparatus and manufacturing processes, heat exchange devices and structural members. She has represented clients at opposition and appeal proceedings and has considerable experience of representing clients at hearings at the European Patent Office.
Laura enjoys working with a wide range of clients from small companies or individuals to large international organisations and foreign associates. She aims to give practical advice tailored to suit the client’s commercial aims.
Laura has a MA (Natural Sciences) and MSci (Physics) degrees, both from Cambridge and a postgraduate certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary & Westfield College, London. She is a fellow the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys and a member of the Institute of Physics.
