Our in-house Search Department provides a full range of patent and trade mark search and watching services.
Our Search personnel have access to all the major patent and technical databases. They can undertake patent searches to identify patents in specific areas of technology, locate and check the status of families of patents and identify patents in the names of competitors. Our patent watching services include regular watches by name of competitor or by subject matter and generally cover United Kingdom, European and PCT patents designating the United Kingdom.
Our Search personnel also carry out trade mark searches which are used most commonly to check the selection of a new trade mark or when an existing mark is to be used on an expanded range of goods or services. In addition, searches can also check the portfolios of competitors and can be used to review the status of existing marks. Trade mark watches for words, devices and owners are also undertaken and can cover single countries, regional areas or be carried out worldwide.
Searches and watches are planned in line with objectives and timescales and written reports are provided.
